ABSTRACT |
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor(VEGF) induces angiogenesis and is expressed in higher than normal concentrations in penumbra patients after acute ischemic stroke. Considering that 936 C/T allele represents lower plasma VEGF level, the VEGF genetic mutation seems to affect the occurrence and prognosis of stroke by forming intimal thickening and collateral circulation. We were to report two ischemic stroke patients having middle cerebral artery stenosis with the VEGF gene mutation. |
