ABSTRACT
We report a case of vitamin B12 deficiency megaloblastic anemia with combined degeneration. We experienced a 83 year old Korean female patient diagnosed as having vitamin B12 deficiency megaloblastic anemia with combined degeneration based on clinical symptoms, laboratory findings, peripheral blood smear, serum vitamin B12 level. In the differentiation of symptom we diagnosed her as having insufficiency of liver and kidney and gave her Palmijihwangtang. After 4 weeks on medication the hematologic abnormalities were improved satisfyingly, but the neurologic symptoms improved slowly and some sequela remain.
