ABSTRACT |
Behçet s Disease(BD) is a multisystem, chronic, relapsing vasculitis of unknown origin that affects nearly all organs and systems. Recurrent oral ulcerations are a sine qua non and usually the first clinical manifestation of the BD. Oral ulcerations in oriental medicine are diagnosed as deficiency and excessiveness extensively. But it is very difficult to differentiate syndromes because most cases are usually mixed. Generally, oral ulcerations have been treated with drugs for reducing intense internal heat. But considering the chronic, recurrent features, we think that many cases of BD are not real deficiency syndrome. Two patients suffered from recurrent oral ulcerations of BD. Case 1 was treated for heat in the upper energizer of excess type, but symptom of oral ulceration got worse. While case 2 was treated for weakness of the spleen and stomach, the result was relatively acceptable. So, We report these cases with a brief review of related literatures. |
