ABSTRACT |
Objective : This study is to estimate the relationship between the blood-static pattern according to the Diagnostic Criteria for Blood Stasis Syndrome with the severity of stenosis in the images of intracranial steno-occlusive lesions obtained by MRA.
Methods : 28 patients(male 12, female 16), who hospitalized in Dongguk Gyeong-Ju Oriental Medicine Hospital from August 2001 to March 2002, were admitted to our hosipital within 7days after stroke attack. All of them were diagnosed as acute cerebral infarction by MRI and MRA tests. We divided the patients by age pattern, blood-static pattern and the severity of stenosis in MRA findings. We estimated the correlation between severity of stenosis pattern and blood-static pattern?age pattern and blood-static pattern?age pattern and severity of stenosis by means of SPSS ver 8.0win.
Results and Conclusion : We could observe a strong relationship between blood-static pattern and the severity of stenosis(p<0.05), age pattern and the severity of stenosis(p<0.01). but blood-static pattern and age pattern didn t show significant relationship(p>0.05) so we think blood-static pattern and age pattern is independent diagnostic standard to predict the severity of stenosis in the craniocervical arteries. In conclusion, the blood-static pattern according to The Diagnostic Criteria for Blood Static Syndrome can be used as a predictive diagnosic tool detecting the severity of stenosis in the craniocervical arteries. |
