ABSTRACT

Objectives:
The purpose of this clinical study was to investigate the relationship dysesthesia (hypoesthesia and numbness in upper and lower limbs) and obesity.

Methods :
The clinical study was done on 104 cases of the patients who were treated in Dong-seo Oriental Hospital from March 1st 2002 to June 1st 2002. We checked the obesity of 104 patients with Inbody 2.0. The patients were divided into two groups as follows: The first group, the patients with dysesthesia comprised of 43cases, the other group consisted of 61cases. We compared and evaluated each groups obesity to find out the relation of the dysesthesia and obesity.

Results and Conclusions :
In RW(Relative Weight %), both groups were above the standard(110) but in BMI(Body Mass Index), only the dysesthesia patients were above the standard(25). The obesity of the dysesthesia patients was higher than that of the other patients. These results indicated that the patients with dysesthesia were fatter than the other patients, and we could know that there was some relation between the dysesthesia and the obesity.
